GENERAL BIOLOGY
Definition of biology science
Biology studies the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of organisms.
It classifies and describes living organisms, their functions, how species appear, and the interactions that bind them to each other and to the natural environment. Biology is now a standard subject for education in schools and universities around the world, and more than one million papers are published annually in a wide range of biology and medicine journals.
Biologist, the hope for ecosystem maintenance and ultimately the existence of this planetFour standard principles form the basis of modern biology: cell theory, evolution, genetics, and homeostasis.
Biology was developed as a separate science in the 19th century, where scientists discovered that living organisms have basic properties.
Branches of biology science
Most biological sciences are specialized disciplines.
Traditionally, they are grouped by the type of organism that is taught: botany, the study of plants; zoology, the study of animals. And microbiology, studying microorganisms.
Branches and subbranches of biology…….
Fields in biology are divided based on the range in which living organisms are studied and the methods used to study them: biochemistry looks at the basic chemistry of life; molecular biology studies the complex interactions between biological molecular systems; cellular biology studies the basic building block of all life forms, the cell; Physiology examines the physical and chemical functions of tissues and organs in an organism; and ecology examines how different organisms are interconnected.
Areas of applied biology such as medicine and genetic research include many specialized sub-disciplines.
One central concept of regulation in biology is that life changes and evolves through evolution and that all known forms of life have a common origin.
