Difference Between Artificial Selection and Natural Selection

On the other hand, the natural selection process is the work of nature. Humans do not interfere with the reproduction of plants or animals. Offspring will be derived from natural factors and favorable conditions. For example, records show that some giraffes have shorter necks than others. Over time, the shorter-necked giraffes disappeared in the wild because the longer-necked giraffes instinctively mate only with longer-necked giraffes. A longer neck ensures that its offspring have a stronger chance of survival.

Another example is a tiger with striped fur. Nature loves tigers with striped fur because it allows them to sneak up on their prey easily. On the other hand, tigers with fewer or no stripes do not survive long in the wild because they are easily detected by their prey and then flee. Natural selection usually involves how a particular species or variety has been wiped out in history. The natural world can be hard for wild plants and animals, but that’s what it’s all about – only the fittest survive.
